Thanks to everyone for participating! The winner is …

“Wow; I had no idea Michelin supported Pride like this.”

Thanks to David (for the second week in a row!) for this week’s winning caption!

The social media response was so frenzied for last night’s Sharknado, Syfy has decided to air the movie again next Thursday, and they’re promising … Sharknado 2!, I have to admit, I was part of that feeding frenzy, and tweeted this at the end of the magical journey:

If you don’t know what that’s referencing, here’s Mr. Barrowman delivering his classic NSFW line.

Obviously, the word has hit the mainstream, because studio Lionsgate has released an official statement about the Ender’s Game boycott:

As proud longtime supporters of the LGBT community, champions of films ranging from Gods and Monsters to The Perks of Being a Wallflower and a company that is proud to have recognized same-sex unions and domestic partnerships within its employee benefits policies for many years, we obviously do not agree with the personal views of Orson Scott Card and those of the National Organization for Marriage. However, they are completely irrelevant to a discussion of Ender’s Game. The simple fact is that neither the underlying book nor the film itself reflect these views in any way, shape or form. On the contrary, the film not only transports viewers to an entertaining and action-filled world, but it does so with positive and inspiring characters who ultimately deliver an ennobling and life-affirming message. Lionsgate will continue its longstanding commitment to the LGBT community by exploring new ways we can support LGBT causes and, as part of this ongoing process, will host a benefit premiere for Ender’s Game.

In news that warms my cockles, Justin Hartley has joined the cast of Revenge as Victoria‘s long-lost son.

And here’s The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we’re going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We’ll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT to … Jake Shears. Wrapping up our week with Jake, Cher has confirmed that Jake will duet with her on the track “Take it Like a Man” for her upcoming album, but there’s no word on when the Scissor Sisters will end their hiatus.

Now, presenting … THE TOP 40 HORROR FILMS OF THE 80′S! Journey with me back to the birth of the Dead Teenager movie (actually, that began in the 70′s, so I guess it would be the Afterbirth Of The Dead Teenager Movie), the last gasps of the Italian Horror Masters, and the franchises that still continue today. Yes, your Freddy, Jason, and Michael will be represented, but I’m also going to pay tribute to the obscurities that deserve to be seen. At #33 is … I, Madman.

Director Tibor Takacs followed up his surprise hit The Gate with this sadly overlooked, well-crafted slasher, written by David Chaskin (who wrote A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddie’s Revenge, which we’ll see much later). Sadly, there’s no gay subtext in this one, but it does have Jenny Wright as the plucky heroine, and 80′s favorite Clayton Rohner as her boyfriend, as they deal with a mad killer who has sprung to life from the pages of the pulp novel she’s reading.

Congrats to JohnEd , who was the first to correctly guess that yesterday’s Pixuzzle™ © ® was Trilogy of Terror.
