Briefs: Looking At “Looking,” Casting “World Of Warcraft,” and Daniel Radcliffe is … Freddie Mercury?

Birthday shoutouts go to Kip Pardue (above), who is 37, Jason Alexander is 54, and Julio Iglesias is 70.

Allegedly, Daniel Radcliffe is the latest name being considered to play Freddie Mercury. As much as I love Daniel … I’m not seeing it.

Op-ed: Why We Need Bi Pride Day.

If you want to get an early start, these disturbing and terrifying Halloween masks are now for sale!

Here’s a first look at Bonnie & Clyde, which will air simultaneously on A&E, Lifetime and History on December 8th and 9th.

Paul Dano, Travis Fimmell, Anson Mount and Anton Yelchin are all up for lead roles in Warcraft, the feature film version of soul-taking video game World Of Warcraft. Travis already looks like he’d fit right in.

HBO’s Looking began filming in San Francisco today, and here’s a news report on the first day (sadly, none of the cast appear).

And here’s The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we’re going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We’ll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT to … Jonathan Groff. 28-year-old Jonathan originated the role of Melchior Gabor in the Broadway production of Spring Awakening in 2007, and received a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actor. Below you can see him talk about “the greatest f*ck-up of my life,” which involved … forgetting the words … during the show. He is so adorable.

And now we have the 50 GREATEST LOST HITS OF THE 90′S! I’ve often ragged on the pop music of the 90′s for being an arid desert devoid of fun, but there were bright spots, including these 50 songs, which should have performed better on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Like The 100 Greatest Lost Hits Of The 80′s countdown, this list is very female-centric (what can I say, I like rock chicks), but hopefully, some of these pop gems may trigger a long dormant memory.

At #36 is … “Birmingham” by Amanda Marshall. Amanda is my favorite singer of the 90′s, and she has 3 songs on this list, starting with her biggest chart success, “Birmingham”. When I say “biggest chart success,” sadly, it was her only chart success, and was still a chart failure, peaking at #43 in November 1996.
