Chris Colfer performing live with castmate Heather Morris (Brittany) in the Glee stage show
Chris Colfer turns 20 today and we both wanted to wish him a happy birthday and also pay homage to the wonderful year he’s had by sharing some very entertaining video clips.
We are great fans of Chris around here, perhaps even more so than the character he plays, and we’ve always been favorably impressed with how witty and self effacing he can be in interviews.
There was our own interview with him from back in February, where he confesses to printing out and saving Kurt Hummel’s first Gay of the Week win. We’re hoping he’s even more excited about having come in #27
on our 2010 Hot 100!
But we particularly liked this interview on The Ellen Show where he talks about his high school experience and badly fumbling his first meeting with Lady Gaga:
Chris doesn’t seem to have let his sudden though well-deserved fame go to his head. Knowing his excitement and sense of wonder at being a part of the Glee phenomenon makes watching him play Kurt a real treat. Here he is along with casting director Robert Ulrich discussing how he got the part:
Chris has had a number of stellar musical performances on the show, but a recent number that really stands out for us is "Kurt’s Turn":
Happy Birthday Chris! May the coming year be as good for you as the last one so clearly was.
