Secret Lives (Finland)

This will be quick because not much happened last week. Like I predicted, Lari moved in with Elias and there was no muss or no fuss because most of it happened off screen. I would have liked to have seen the moment when Lari moved out. I think that would have been far more interesting than the boring teen party scenes. But it’s nice that Lari is growing comfortable with who he is and in his relationship with Elias and that there are no issues with their friends. But while that nasty Ida seems to have been forgiven by her friends for spitefully outing Lari last season, I never will.

Forbidden Love (Germany)

I thought Christian and Olli’s repeated attempts to try and make love were pretty hot. They’ve never really been one of my favorite couples, but I appreciate that the show has never held back on the intimacy. I also liked the dance lesson sequence, especially with the instructor flirting with Olli. That was really cute watching Christian being all jealous. Too bad it’s marred by the reality that Christian has cheated on Olli (again). And it’s a shame that even though Christian’s visit is brief, most of their scenes are about their friends’ romantic lives. That’s one thing that hasn’t changed, sadly.

But about Christian’s cheating, it doesn’t matter to me that it was with a woman. Cheating is cheating. I don’t think it’s worse because it was with the opposite sex. Either way, Christian can’t remain faithful. Once is a slip or a mistake, but three times is a pattern. Now as for whether Christian should have told Olli the truth, generally I’m in favor of keeping quiet. Like Jessica said, being honest with someone about something you’ve done is more about you feeling guilty than the other person.

And if it had of been once and wouldn’t happen again, I’d say keep quiet and leave it as a one off. But this is the third time, Christian is a habitual cheater. Does it mean something that Christian is always unfaithful with a woman? Perhaps. But the fact of the matter is that like Olli said, Christian is a serial adulterer. Olli should know this so he can decide if he wants to stay with a man who can’t stay faithful.

But seriously? An open relationship? Olli doesn’t want that. He’s not that kind of guy. That was obvious when he proposed it to Christian. Let’s hope that Olli comes to the conclusion that he’s only saying that out of desperation to save his marriage and that he really needs a husband who can remain faithful and actually wants to live in the same time zone as he does. This marriage needs to come to an end. It’s terrible to leave Olli with an off screen husband and no life. Enough is enough. The show has done so much to dismantle this couple, why are they clinging to these few strands left? Let’s put it out of its misery once and for all.

I don’t think I’ve laughed so loud in awhile as when Spinelli said in a public place about he and Maxie’s baby being biologically theirs and that they’d let Lulu and Dante have the baby — just so Brad could overhear it. It’s one of those things that you see only in soaps. I don’t watch the whole show so I have no idea why Spinelli and Maxie would let someone else raise their baby, but I’m sure there’s some convoluted over-plotted reasoning behind it. This regime did similar baby stories over at One Life To Live and I guess they’re just repeating their ‘greatest’ hits.

My big issue this week was with Felix. Like with Nikolas last week, he is so out of bounds telling Brad what to do in regards to Britt’s baby. Like Sabrina said, now that they know the baby isn’t Patrick’s, it’s not their problem. But Felix clearly isn’t going to leave it alone since the suspects the baby isn’t Brad’s. The thing is I wouldn’t have a problem with Felix being involved if he actually was interested in Brad and it was causing problems in their potential relationship. But instead, Felix just seems like a busybody. I’d love it if someone would tell him to butt out and get a life. Please?

I did watch a few snippets of Roger Howarth and Maura West this past week and it only made me miss my beloved As The World Turns. I know they are playing Franco and Ava on this show, but it just seems like they’ve brought Paul Ryan and Carly Tenney to Port Charles. The acting is good though, especially by Ms. West. But I just can’t get into the show as a whole, sadly enough.
