Meme: Glenn Beck Slams Coca-Cola, Jonathan Groff Knows What You Say About “Looking,” Panti Bliss Explains Homophobia

George Michael returns, Shawn Pyfrom’s battle with addiction, what if you’re Not Looking?

Dylan SprayberryDylan Sprayberry (god, I can think of a porn parody for that name) of Man of Steel, Glee, and a dozen other things requiring ridiculously good looking brunettes has been cast on season four of Teen Wolf as Liam, “an arrogant but big-hearted high-school freshman. With an enviable athletic prowess, he’s got perfect grades, perfect charm and is utterly unprepared to face the supernatural adversity of Beacon Hills.”

While HBO may have walked away from Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, Freemantle Media is now looking to adapt the insanely rich world into a series.

Glenn Beck had a good run. He spoke out for gay rights, forcefully. He condemned Putin’s oppression of gays forcefully. And now he’s been undone by a soft drink company. “So somebody tweeted last night and said, ‘Glenn, what did you think of the Coke ad?’ And I said, ‘Why did you need that to divide us politically?’ Because Shawn Pyfromthat’s all this ad is. It’s in your face, and if you don’t like it, if you’re offended by it, you’re a racist. If you do like it, you’re for immigration. You’re for progress. That’s all this is: to divide people. Remember when Coke used to do the thing on the top and they would all hold hands? Now it’s ‘Have a Coke and we’ll divide you.’” Seriously, you saw a (cynical) plea for unity and saw division? Are you off your meds? Do you still like the gays, but not people with a little color to their skin?

Desperate Housewives’ Shawn Pyfrom couldn’t stay silent in the wake of Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s death. He’s an addict and an alcoholic, five months sober. And you should read his story, because it’s the story of many of us, and the struggle to be sober, to be alive, and to be in control.

Jonathan Groff is aware a lot of people are bored with Looking. But he’s just happy you’re so bored with it you can’t stop talking about it. “But now that it’s come out and people are seeing it and reviewing it and starting to have opinions about it, it’s sort of become this conversation piece, which at the end of the day is, for us working on the show, really exciting, that people are engaging with it, whether they like it or not. I think for me, personally, I believe in this more than anything I’ve worked on. So to hear people saying negative things about it, it’s a little hard because it feels like your baby is out there in the world. But I sort of have to put those feelings aside and enjoy the fact that it is a conversation, and it is engaging people and making people talk.”Jonathan Groff

44 equality activists in Idaho blocked the entrance to the state senate wearing shirts that said “Add the Words,” meaning add GLBT to the nondiscrimination laws. The police arrested all the activists, including former state Sen. Nicole LeFavour, who as a former senator had privileges to be there, until the senate voted to suspend those privileges just so she could be arrested.

The first lawsuit for marriage equality has been filed in Wisconsin. The state does have a domestic partner registry, but not only outlaws marriage, it also has a law that makes “marriage evasion” a crime, so in theory if you marry in another state in contradiction of the state’s marriage law, you could face prison or fines.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will deliver a keynote to the IOC about Russia’s anti-gay laws prior to the Games starting in Sochi. Since this happens before the Olympics,Chandler Whitney it’s unlikely to get nearly the press it would if the speech happened during the games.

Last week, we told you about college football player Conner Mertens coming out to his Willamette University football team, and receiving universal support. Now his boyfriend Chandler Whitney has come out to his baseball team at Walla Walla Community College, to a standing ovation. After the applause died down, he said “You know that college football player at Willamette who came out? I’m dating that guy.” Stop bragging!

Should JK Rowling regret that Luna and Hermione never hooked up at Hogwarts?
