Queerview Television Guide (Wednesday, May 26 2010)

Current TV’s investigative reporting series Vanguard takes a look at the situation of gays in Uganda and the “kill the gays” legislation in tonight’s “Missionaries of Hate”.

And if you need to lighten things up after taking a close look at homophobia, Mario Cantone, Kathy Griffin and Liza Minelli all have talk show appearances.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) 12:35 AM EDT
You can catch a double-dose of Mario Cantone talking about Sex and the City 2 today. In the am, he appears with Willie Garson while he appears solo to talk with Jimmy Fallon in late night.

The Joy Behar Show (HLN) 9:00 PM EDT
The iconic Liza Minelli visits Joy tonight. Liza is probably promoting Sex and the City 2, but she doesn’t make a lot talk show appearances, so I imagine Joy will want to discuss Liza’s amazing career.

Vanguard (Current) 10:00 PM EDT
There’s been a good amount of discussion of Uganda’s “kill the gays” legislation on gay blogs and The Rachel Maddow Show but this is the first time a Western reporter has gone to Uganda. Mariana van Zeller goes there to examine the atmosphere of anti-gay hatred found in Uganda, queer advocates in the country, “kill the gays” advocate Pastor Martin Ssempa as well as American Evangelical activist Lou Engle, who visited Uganda to support its backers.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) 11:35 PM EDT
Kathy Griffin is on tonight’s guest list. Hopefully, she’ll have some scoop on the upcoming season of My Life on the D-List.

The Tyra Banks Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Ah well, I hoped Tyra would wrap up her show without making me watch one more time but Thursday she’s having several couples compete for the wedding of their dreams, including three same-sex couples who will be competing with each other in the “Gaylywed Game”.
