“Still Got It!” Movie Challenge of the Week

Hello, friends! It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for our weekly Still Got It! feature, where we present you with a still taken from one of our favorite flicks and ask you to identify it. But first, submit your name (or AE handle) – and the first person to submit a correct answer will get a shout out next week.

Before we start this week’s round, let me give a big hand to samuels, who correctly identified the last round’s still as having been taken from the Marilyn Monroe/Jane Russell campfest Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. samuels, we’d hit the cruise ship gym with you and your army of oiled-up chorus boys any day.

On to this week’s still! So as not to spoil others’ enjoyment, please don’t give away the correct answer in the comments. But hey, there could of course be any number of entertaining alternate answers. Feel free to get creative and share any suggested fictional movie titles you want.

So! Without further ado…

Before we start this week’s round, let me give a big hand to Corby Hess, who correctly identified the last round’s still as having been taken from the love-it-or-hate-it pansexual Bret Easton Ellis fantasia The Rules of Attraction. Some folks were upset about the fact that the word “The” was required at the start of the answer – I’m sorry, but I don’t make the rules of attraction, I just enforce them. Corby, we would dance on a hotel room bed in our underwear with you while blaring George Michael’s “Faith” as our mothers swilled champagne and popped pills downstairs in the restaurant any day.

On to this week’s still! So as not to spoil others’ enjoyment, please don’t give away the correct answer in the comments. But hey, there could of course be any number of entertaining alternate answers. Feel free to get creative and share any suggested fictional movie titles you want.

But first, submit your name (or AE handle) – and the first person to submit a correct answer will get a shout out next week.

Before we start this week’s round, let me give a big hand to DMDC, who correctly identified the last round’s still as being taken from the action blockbuster Die Hard. Interestingly, last week’s round drew among the most guesses of any film in the feature’s history – either Die Hard is really popular or we’ve got a sleeper cell of bloody foot fetishists up in this piece. (In either case, welcome!) DMDC, we would be your Dr. Scholl’s any day of the week.

Before we start this week’s round, let me give a big hand to JimmyF, who correctly identified the last round’s still as being taken from the classic coming of age comedy-drama Harold and Maude. JimmyF, we’d be your date to a funeral any day of the week.

“Still Got It!” Movie Challenge of the Week

Hello, friends! Sorry to be a day late with our regular Wednesday Still Got It! feature, but there was the small matter of THE INTERNETS EXPLODING!!! earlier this week, so I hope you’ll forgive us. In case you’ve forgotten, this feature is where we present you with a still taken from one of our favorite flicks and ask you to identify it. But first, submit your name (or AE handle) — and the first person to submit a correct answer will get a shout out next week.

Before we start this week’s round, let me give a big hand to … ME! Yes, for the first time in the herstory of Still Got It!, not a SINGLE PERSON correctly guessed last week’s film. I’m kind of shocked, because the movie was something of a breakthrough of gay cinema, although it kind of seems to have fallen between the cracks (EVERY PUN INTENDED) since. Anyway, the answer was Kiss of the Spider Woman, and the still featured the delicately-wristed William Hurt giving chocolates to cellmate Raul Julia:

On to this week’s still! This one’s from a dark comedy that’s a personal fave of mine. So as not to spoil others’ enjoyment, please don’t give away the correct answer in the comments. But hey, there could of course be any number of entertaining alternate answers. Feel free to get creative and share any suggested fictional movie titles you want.
