The Good: Look at all these gays! Jim Parsons, Dan Bucatinsky, Nathan Lane, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and even Tim Gunn (who’s now considered a host of Project Runway — holler!) picked up nominations. More than a few of my dream selections also made the cut: Jane Fonda in The NewsroomVera Farmiga in Bates Motel, Jane Krakowski for the final season of 30 Rock, Anna Chlumsky for Veep, and Melissa Leo for her bizarre guest role on Louie all made the cut. I’m particularly excited to see Molly Shannon pick up her second Emmy nomination, this time for her guest spot on Enlightened.

The Bad: Aw, no love for Sarah Jessica Parker‘s guest spot on Glee? Frankly, I don’t have a lot to complain about on this list. Maybe I’m a little peeved that Julianna Margulies didn’t pick up a nom for The Good Wife, even though she’s won the prize before? At least Baranski‘s still in the running.

And Wow!: Congrats to Adam Driver for his Girls nomination. Such a weird and unpredictably sweet character.

Now your turn. What do we think of these (generally crowd-pleasing) nominations?
