A Halloween How I Met Your Mother gives us Barney as Uncle Sam and more surprises.
The producers of Ringer seem to be trying to grab our attention by adding more hot guys to the show. This time its soap stud (Guiding Light, The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives) Brody Hutzler joining the drama. Hutzler will play Madchen Amick‘s husband. I appreciate the additional eye candy, but I’m hoping Ringer comes with more interesting stories.
ABC just bought a comedy from journalist and charter View host Lisa Ling about a Chinese and a Irish/Italian family who have to find a way to bridge their differences when two of the younger members get married. Between Rob Schneider‘s CBS comedy, and the Ellen DeGeneres-produced Wietz & Wong (also at ABC) multi-generational comedies about the families of interracial marriages is definitely looking like the next big pilot season trend.
Yeah, this makes TLC’s reality shows about big families like 17 Kids and Counting and Jon & Kate Plus Eight even more unsettling.
Adam Levine just sold another project to NBC, this one is a drama set in the world of rock ‘n roll. There’s no further information, but I’m definitely curious about the project.
After years of holding out, The CW’s shows will finally be available to watch on Hulu, which is good news for those of us with unreliable DVRs. The move might also give the struggling broadcast network enough money to create summer programming again and make up for how difficult it is to sell its shows into syndication.
When Conan records episodes in New York to celebrate his one-year anniversary, it sounds like he will officiate the wedding of a longtime staffer and his partner.
MTV got some solid ratings out of the return of Beavis & Butthead, though only a few of those viewers stuck around to check out Good Vibes afterward.

Hawaii Five-O (CBS) 10:00 PM ET
Halloween brings Robert Englund and Hawaiian ghost lore to the Five-0 as a couple making a documentary about a burial site are murdered. I’m hoping that their treatment of heiaus makes more sense than the way Alex O’Loughlin pronounces Kalakaua Avenue. (Though I still wish for a high-speed chase down the Kalanianaole Hwy.)
