TV on Tap: “Glee” Plans for More Sebastian, Paul Rudd vs. Leslie Knope, and a Very Gay “Good Wife”

Tabatha Coffey returns with a new season of Tabatha Takes Over.

One side-effect of Fox cancelling the results show of So You Think You Can Dance is that the summer standby will get a longer season. So SYTYCD fans will get more weeks, but fewer hours.

Among the interesting tidbits to come up when ABC Family met with the Television Critics Association — the network is thinking of making a movie (a TV movie) that would wrap-up the cliffhangers left behind by the cancellation of The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Or, specifically, they’re “on the verge” of putting a movie in development. Don’t get your hopes up yet.

Meanwhile, the network was also asked if they were taking steps to cut their ties to Pat Robertson and The 700 Club, which it’s contractually obligated to air. It doesn’t sound like that will happen anytime soon, so in the meantime I hope they just keep putting gay-inclusive shows like Pretty Little Liars on as The 700 Club‘s lead-in until Robertson can’t stand the association.

Former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont has found his first post-AMC project, a mob drama for TNT, L.A. Noir. The drama looks at the battle between the police and the mob in 1940s Los Angeles. Sounds like something that could make for an interesting companion to SouthLAnd.

In news that predicts stormy skies for Klaine fans, Grant Gustin says his gay warbler will continue to show up this season and may become a series regular next season.

Fox has ordered pilots from Kevin Williamson and Greg Berlanti. Williamson’s pilot follows an FBI agent tracking down a cult of serial killers while Berlanti’s show focuses on an unscrupulous lawyer seeking revenge on the man who framed him for fraud. Honestly, both sound like the kinds of shows where critics wonder if the series can maintain the momentum of the pilot.

Who could make us root against Leslie Knope? It turns out Parks & Recreation is working to get Paul Rudd to play Leslie’s opponent.

Things are going to get interesting for Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) on The Good Wife as both Parker Posey and Amy Sedaris are set to make a return appearance in the same February episode (which will also have appearances by Denis O’Hare, Jonathan Groff and Jon Benjamin Hickey).

Microsoft continues to work to turn the Xbox into an all-in-one entertainment center, signing deals with Fox Broadcasting, Fox News, Comcast and Verizon.

Buzzfeed has a collection of Doctor Who mash-up fan art. Now I want to see the TARDIS visit Asteroid B-612.

The ratings for the premiere of The Firm weren’t particularly impressive, not even matching the numbers of last year’s short-lived superhero drama The Cape.
