TV on Tap: “Teen Wolf” Renewed, a “Manhattan” Bomb Story and “Hannibal” Would Kill for Clarice

News

HBO has ordered a comedy special, 7 Days in Hell, where Andy Samberg and Kit Harington play rival tennis players facing off at Wimbledon. If that means we get to see Kit Harrington wear tennis whites, I’m in.

Mayim Bialik has been picked to co-host TV Land’s Candid Camera revival. She’ll be joined by Peter Funt, son of Candid Camera creator Allen Funt.

MTV has ordered a fifth season of Teen Wolf. It will consist of 20 episodes, split in half like previous seasons.

Eileen Davidson has joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the reality show’s fifth season, according to RadarOnline. Radar says that Davidson is getting a record-setting salary for a new castmember. The other new Beverly Hills cast member is Lisa Rinna, another former Days of Our Lives star. I gave up on RHoBH in the second season when things started getting nasty (sadly, from the sounds of things it got a lot worse from there) but Davidson’s presence could get me to give the show another chance.

Bryan Fuller says that he still hopes that MGM (who owns the rights to the character) will let Clarice Starling appear in Hannibal‘s fourth season, which should take inspiration from The Silence of the Lambs.

The upcoming ABC Upstairs/Downstairs-in-a-country-club drama, Members Only has added Michael Landes to the cast. I watched The Wedding Belles for Landes’ handsome mug (well, that and Missi Pyle) and I’m already excited about the cast of Members Only. I can’t wait.

Even though Project Runway has yet to find the next new iconic name in fashion (though Christian Siriano comes close) the Washington Post says the show has functioned as a lesson in how tough it is to become a name brand in fashion.

The Hub has announced its version of Shark Week, Bark Week, which will feature episodes of It’s Me or the Dog and Too Cute! along with movies like 101 Dalmatians and Cats & Dogs.

MTV’s classic Undressed debuted 15 years ago and Morning After remembers 15 Undressed stars who moved on to much bigger roles. Now, it also works as a time capsule to how some stars looked 15 years ago.

Even though Legend of Korra has been pulled from the schedule, the series will continue. The remaining episodes will debut on Nick.com. That’s usually the sign of a burn-off but the series’ creators say the fourth season is still in production.

The View has been generating headlines recently, losing two hosts and bringing Rosie O’Donnell back, but viewers haven’t come back to see Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy‘s last days on the show.

Vulture‘s Josef Adalian analyizes Under the Dome‘s sinking ratings and determines things aren’t as bad as they seem — for now. There’s a good chance the sinking ratings could turn out to be explained away by increased DVR use and even then the ratings are still strong for a scripted summer drama.

The Memory Book (HMC) 9:00 PM ET
The latest Hallmark movie gives us the Luck Macfarlane fix we’ve needing with this movie about a lonely, single photographer (Once Upon a Time‘s Meghan Ory) who finds an old photo album that belonged to a happy couple (Adrienne Barbeau and Art Hindle) and is determined to learn more about them. She is eventually joined in her mission by a “mysterious but charming” bartender (Macfarlane) and the quest turns into romance. But will this Hallmark movie tell viewers where they can find their own memory books?

If Ash thought his visits to Freddie and Stuart were awkward, just wait until he brings his new girlfriend over for dinner.

Big Brother (CBS) 8:00 PM ET
This certainly could turn out to be tineresting. This week, we’ve got Zach and Frankie sharing the Head of Household role. I’m sure when producers came up with the dual-HoH twist, they were hoping they could get a pair involved in a showmance as Heads of Household. However, I doubt they were predicting the season’s biggest showmance would involve two guys.

True Blood (HBO) 9:00 PM ET
Eric and Pam find a new ally in their pursuit of Sarah Newlin. Maybe this means they get together with whatever yakuza are still alive and say, “Does it matter who kills Sarah Newlin as long as she pays for her genocidal crimes?”

Manhattan (WGN) 10:00 PM ET
WGN gets more historically accurate for its second drama, which follows the effort to create the atomic bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico. I’ve read a few accounts about the effort and there are plenty of ways it could make for a very compelling tale. Plus, the cast includes Jon Benjamin Hickey to give you another reason to tune in.
