News

NBC is planning to unveil some Parks & Recreation merchandise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That includes a set of trading cards, motivational posters featuring Leslie Knope and a bunch of Ron Swanson merchandise. I guess NBC’s research said that I’m the only one who uses the moniker “dream man Ben Wyatt.’

HBO’s rapture pilot The Leftovers just added one more to its cast. Deadline reports that Liv Tyler has joined the cast as a woman getting wedding jitters as the big day nears, which gets her noticed by the local mysterious cult.

I’m sure some of you are interested in the pictures of the new Big Brother house in The Hollywood Reporter. It looks good, but it’s not a major rebuild. Since the last season I enjoyed continues to be season six’s “Summer of Secrets” my mind has connected major revamps to the house with quality.

So. Yeah. Anger Management has dropped Selma Blair. On the bright side, this means Blair is free to be on a much funnier show. Like Kath & Kim.*
*Note: Kath & Kim was not funny at all. It was still much funnier than Anger Management.

Doctor Who’s Jenna-Louise Coleman has joined the cast of Death Comes to Pemberly the mystery tale featuring Pride & Prejudice characters. Coleman will play Bennett sister Lydia. That’s the series with Matthew Rhys as Mister Darcy.

Listings

The View (ABC) Check local listings
There are very few people who could get me to endure The View but Margaret Cho could draw me in. I realize some of you might also want to watch Susan Lucci talk up Devious Maids.

The Talk (CBS) Check local listings
Sean Hayes is set to visit today’s show and considering he’s got at least two shows — Hollywood Game Night and Sean Saves the World — to promote (oh, and where’s that Grimm appearance?) there shouldn’t be any awkward pauses in search of a topic.

Melissa & Joey (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET
Mel gets a call from her childhood friend Austin (Trevor Donovan) now that he’s moved back to Toledo. What would you do if you were reconnecting with an old childhood friend who grew up to look like Trevor Donovan? Mel’s thinking the same way.Melissa & Joey, "Oh, Brother"

Baby Daddy (ABC Family) 8:30 PM ET
Danny hits a professional slump, prompting him to turn to a psychologist. In this case, the role of ABC Family’s Callie Thorne will be played by Lacey Chabert, we’re hoping she’s got some kind of therapy that gives him an excise to lose his shirt again.

Franklin & Bash (TNT) 9:00 PM ET
I’ve yet to make it through an episode of TNT’s drama about a pair of bro-lawyers because of the bro part, but star Mark-Paul Gosselaar certainly hasn’t been shy about taking his clothes off to get the attention of gay bloggers. We already know this season includes him (and co-star Breckin Meyer) going on Piers Morgan Live naked. Some of you might find Gosselaar’s hotness enough to overcome the bro part.

Franklyn & BashI’ll admit, it is a compelling argument.

Million Dollar Listing New York (Bravo) 9:00 PM ET
As if to celebrate the return of Franklin & Bash, Ryan ups the bro-ness of MDLNY by visiting his old frat brothers in hopes of finding some good contacts. As long as Luis and Freddie‘s business partnership continues (hilariously) I can deal with that.

Futurama (Comedy Central) 10:00 PM ET
The last time Futurama was on the road to its series finale, it was an under-appreciated gem airing on a network that usually aired episodes at odd times (as I recall, those last few episodes only got aired just as Fox was on the verge of losing the exclusive rights to them). Now, it’s Comedy Central’s turn to cancel Futurama, but maybe this time there’s a chance the creative team got to plan out a solid finale.

Futurama

Hot in Cleveland (TV Land) 10:00 PM ET
Now that Hot in Cleveland is on the way to becoming the first TV Land series to reach 100 episodes, they’re tackling another kind of landmark sitcom episode — the live show. Like many live performances, there are a number of special guest stars booked to appear including William Shatner, Danny Pudi, Shirley Jones and others.

Necessary Roughness (USA) 10:00 PM ET
Since Dani‘s now working for a sports and entertainment company, she’s got clients who aren’t just athletes. Like a child star who called up Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes for hints on how to do a ripped-from-the-headlines story.

The Exes (TV Land) 10:30 PM ET
The third season begins with the guys breaking Holly‘s… shall we say her personal massager and scrambling to replace it before she can discover its missing. Yeah, this is the show where three straight guys manage to break their landlady’s sex toy together, then go shopping for a new one. I can’t wait until this episode is remade with puppets on Logo’s Felt.

The Soup Investigates (E!) 10:30 PM ET
And the newest entry in the booming fake news genre comes from… E!? I’m still wrapping my head around the idea of a Soup spin-off that doesn’t involve substituting the “The” for a genre (we still miss you Web Soup, not so much Sports Soup), but The Soup has a really funny staff. A chance for them to grab more of the spotlight (especially if that includes Matthew Carney losing his shirt again) is welcome.

The Soul Man (TV Land) 11:00 PM ET
Usually TV Land’s comedy night offer a double-feature of sitcoms, but Wednesdays now offer three shows ending with the Hot in Cleveland spinoff. This season, star Cedric the Entertainer is getting back to his stand-up roots by ending each show with a two-minute comedy routine. That’s, er, an interesting idea. It could work, but it also sounds risky.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Tonight’s show has a guest list that sounds amazing with Kylie Minogue and Elijah Wood. Let’s hope there aren’t any reality TV stars who suddenly need a talk show forum.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!
