At the end of this post you can see the final recorded vote tally in each bracket. The winner of our 2013 tourney was announced here.

Ultimate Slash Madness is living up to the title. Holy crap guys, you’ve cast three million votes so far in this year’s tourney!

Voting in Round 2 closed yesterday, and we’re down to the Elite Eight slash pairings for Round 3. There were some intensely close match-ups in the last round. Fans of Merlin‘s Merthur, X-Men‘s Erik/Charles and The Avenger‘s Thorki all put up valiant fights and kept their respective races neck and neck until the final bell. But in the end the final eight are…

Destiel and Wincest from Supernatural, Teen Wolf has an amazing three slash couples still in the running: Sterek, Scisaac and Stanny. Star Trek‘s Kirk/Spock (classic!) made the cut, Inception‘s Arthur/Eames, and Sherlock‘s Johnlock.

You’ll find these 2013 Ultimate Slash Madness Elite Eight contenders arranged in the tournament bracket form below for handy reference. You can click on it to view the full-size image.

Voting for Round 3 starts below and will be open through Wednesday, August 7th 11:59 p.m. EST. You may vote as often as you like, with one caveat: be aware that too frequent voting or a voting pattern that appears to be computer automated (i.e. a “voting bot”) will result in a “suspicious activity” message and will trigger a one hour cooldown period, during which you won’t be able to vote at all. For security reasons, the polling service we use does not publicize the frequency or number of votes that will trigger the suspicious activity message and cooldown period (and it is probably subject to change anyway). So even though a lot of people have asked, we cannot provide you with that information. We just don’t have it. But if you do get a “suspicious activity” message you are advised to wait a full hour before trying to vote again. (If you vote again within that hour we think you just reset the timeout.)

With that bit of housekeeping out of the way, Round 3 is now open! Please be kind to your fellow fandoms, and may the slash be with you.
